After being groomed at some of the finest restaurants on Martha's Vineyard, and Inspired by travels throughout France, Italy and Spain, Kevin and his wife Suzanna opened Détente in 2005. In just three seasons Détente has twice won the Best of Boston award by Boston Magazine, and has the highest Zagat rating on the island. Kevin's utilization of the best local ingredients, and contemporary flavor combinations has led Détente to be known as one of the Island's best kept secrets.
